Round Robin Kick Off!
We kicked off our Boulder MQG Round Robin 2018 at our June evening meeting. Each of the participants made their center and brought it to exchange for Round 1. All of the centers are unique and we can’t wait to see the borders that get added!
Some of the center blocks were made with precise paper piecing, while others were made with standard block construction. They all look amazing!
There will be 4 rounds between June and October. The final quilt tops will be given back to the original center owner at the October Open Sew. During each round a participant takes a turn to add a border to a quilt top. The quilts are medallion style and will grow outward with each round. Every month the quilt top will be handed off to another participating member. In the end, a total of 5 participants will have worked on each quilt top.
We have eight participants this year. Each person will pass to the same person every round which creates a different combination of border makers on every quilt top.
You can follow #bouldermqgroundrobin to see what we’re up to during the next several months. Several of our participants have requested a surprise reveal in October so you won’t necessarily see full quilts posted on social media. Join us at our evening meetings and you might get a glimpse when they are exchanged!
