One thing we used to do at open sew days was to have a challenge project or a little demo. Now that we are getting back to having regular, in person open sews again, we wanted to have a few things throughout the year.

Block of the Month

We’d love to have you join the Block of the Month! The full directions are in the Member Area.

Make sure you share your finished blocks using #bouldermqgbom23

Other Activities and Challenges

March Open Sew: Make a Quilted Nametag

There will be a few text fabrics if you’d like to fussy cut your name. There will also be markers if you’d rather use the. Maybe you want to try embroidering your name, there’s tons of options!

May Open Sew: Spring Cleaning and Orphan Block Exchange

We all have those random blocks laying around. The ones that were going to be a quilt but never quite turned into one. Or maybe we changed our minds about the colors. Bring those blocks to the May open sew and maybe your block will spark someone to make use of it!

Also, bring along any fabrics, books, or other quilting supplies that you’d like to pass along.

July Evening Meeting: Christmas in July

Do you always want to make a Christmas quilt but are too busy during the holidays? Start a quilt early and show it off at the July Ice Cream Social meeting.

September Open Sew: Needlebook Exchange

Make a needle book (watch for blog post tutorials) and bring it to the open sew to exchange.

If you’d like to organize an activity or show a demo at an open sew, let us know!
